Pros

Many of the benefits made working at Lexia tolerable, at least for a while. Remote first was a big plus, as well as the lifestyle account, and healthy PTO offerings. There were plenty of wonderful people that worked there and made the days feel less stressful.

Cons

There were several extremely toxic people from VP on down the organizational structure that were allowed to continue their abuse of people within the organization. You were only "promoted" if these toxic people liked you, not based on actual capabilities or exhibited work. Several people were gifted promotions, though not at all qualified, but because they were "yes" people and never voiced issues with systems or processes. Some managers were allowed to bully people completely outside their vertical, even though reported to HR by multiple people and many times.

Pros

Life/work balance; supportive team; strong work ethic among colleagues; everyone is driven to succeed and put forth their best work. It is an amazing place to work that I have 100% enjoyed.

Cons

Market conditions are really tough right now in EdTech due to the loss of ESSER funds and challenges coming from the federal govenement, which are impacting how many schools can buy our products. This has led to a couple rounds of layoffs, but that is inevitable in today's economic condition.

Pros

The ability to work fully remote is great.

Cons

My experience at Lexia was significantly impacted by ongoing job instability and a management culture that often felt condescending rather than supportive. Management constantly throwing their team under the bus and looking to get them in trouble or fired left the team feeling defeated and produced a toxic, fear based working environment. Communication from management frequently felt dismissive and condescending. Feedback was not always delivered in a constructive or respectful manner. Rather than feeling encouraged to grow, I often felt as though employees were working under constant scrutiny and pressure. The environment created unnecessary anxiety and contributed to low morale.
