Cons: I have worked for Lidl for approximately 10 months now and during that time myself and other colleagues are consistently treated poorly. Area Managers: Employ too much staff, leaving existing store employees not receiving contracted hours because there are not enough hours for all of the staff. Options to resolve this, include travelling to other stores much further away to make up the hours. Store Managers: Change rotas on a last minute basis so you can’t make any personal plans incase your shift is changed. - The attitude of some managers is awful and you are treated like dirt. This job is stressful enough as it is without your own colleagues talking down to you. - If you call in sick, you have to be genuinely on your death bed otherwise you are unfairly judged by Managers. - Always called on your day off to come in and work. - Female staff are always told to go on till duty over their male counterparts and I’ve seen this in other stores I’ve worked at too.
