Pros

Strong Foundation for Digital Media Careers: Liquid is a suitable starting point for individuals seeking a career in digital media. Self-sufficient employees will become proficient in multiple platforms within their first year. However, for those requiring extensive step-by-step training, media in general might not be a great fit. Impressive Company Culture and Colleagues: While the overall atmosphere at Liquid is commendable, it is important to be prepared to navigate complex interdepartmental dynamics. Competitive Compensation with Caveats: Liquid generally offers industry-standard salaries, but the heavy reliance on bonuses to complete one's compensation package can be challenging. Comprehensive Benefits Package: Liquid provides best-in-class benefits for its employees, which is a significant advantage. Solid Reputation in the Gaming Industry: Liquid has carved out a niche in the gaming landscape as a reliable agency, adept at handling tight deadlines and adjusting to ever-changing situations, such as game delays, cancellations, or poor game reviews.

Cons

Inefficient HR and Onboarding Processes: The HR department and onboarding processes at Liquid are disorganized and could greatly benefit from enhanced communication and structure. Frequent Interdepartmental Discord: Tension between teams and departments is a notable issue at Liquid, with unnecessary drama making it difficult to navigate professional relationships. Inconsistent Support for Innovation: The availability of tools and resources to drive innovation is heavily dependent on one's team and account, sometimes resulting in a sense of stagnation. Although my personal experience was positive, it is essential to consider this inconsistency when evaluating Liquid as an employer.

Pros

Liquid is full of easy cooperation, you'll get to work on a wide variety of projects in different scopes, and actually get to do the kind of work editors enjoy: Making stuff. It was a huge breath of fresh air after my previous gig and I look forward to any future employment opportunities with them.

Cons

I honestly can't think of any

Pros

The creative team (now Arcade) is an extremely welcoming group of people. I experienced a great deal of both career and personal growth while working at Liquid. An experience I'm very grateful for. The overall environment is fast-paced and often you'll work on multiple projects at once. For me, that was a big positive. I enjoyed that each day was a bit different than the one before it. Brainstorms were more about "yes and..." and less about "no, not that," which helped us find the best ideas together. That said, be ready to dive in, don't sit on the sidelines waiting for that perfect moment - just shout it out. I also enjoyed building real relationships with clients - from meetings to emails to phone calls - the creatives are given time with the clients to really understand the needs, expectations, and goals of a given project. It's not just "they asked for X, give them X." but rather, "How can we take this to the next level for them?" It can get loud, there are Nerf guns, and you'll never go hungry because there are always snacks on hand. All things I loved.

Cons

Internal approvals on projects or decks from upper management can be delayed because multiple projects will be in-process at once. A tough place for on-site education in an entry-level role. Often, with the team working on multiple projects at once, there wasn't time for experienced teammates to educate entry-level employees. I commuted from the valley, which was 75 minutes or so each way. That's not a con for Liquid + Arcade, but rather a warning - like any job in LA... be prep'd for the commute.
