Pros

Glad to be working here in Mastercard (Vadodara) as a software engineer since the past 4 years and counting. Working here has been a real enriching experience and I wish everyone aspiring to be a part of this team here to feel excited and join this awesome family of taskmasters, and achievers, with confidence and positive energy. Well, This space here to highlight the Pro's is too limited to express the true reflection and flamboyance of this grand organisation. The task force and cross functional teams here are with full on energy all the time and there is always a positive drive on the floor due to the best-in-class infrastructure, intellectual grandeur, perfect work-life balance, friendly HR Policies, transparency & suppleness @ work, exciting career growth opportunities for all and specifically for go-getters and smart-workers to reach professional excellence, and extremely caring and encouraging leadership. There are continuous roll-outs of employee engagement programs while encouraging for certifications and providing enormous learning and growth opportunities. Each and every member of the family here have flexibility and ample prospects to put forth innovative ideas and drive towards possible implementations. Always surrounded by passionate people having appetite to learn, explore, and excel. The system here motivates new talent and gives opportunity for enrichment and evolve as a human being at large and a true n successful professional in particular.

Cons

There is surely a lot of scope to improve upon introducing and providing long term on-site opportunities to deserving employees, which is an area of prime concern currently and not very much common to be seen at the center here in Baroda. Most of the Employees are having a laid back attitude and dont seem to be motivated enough to exercise proper time management and instead enjoying the liberty of taking undue advantage of the liberal approach of the management and this is not commensurate with the international standards of such a company of repute.

Pros

Mastercard does a great job fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. There are genuinely good people throughout the organization, and leadership often invests in employee engagement through events, recognition, and culture-building initiatives. I enjoyed many of the relationships I built while working there, and there are teams that truly care about collaboration and supporting one another.

Cons

Compensation at the director level did not feel competitive compared to the level of responsibility expected. Career advancement can also be extremely challenging due to how top-heavy the organization is with senior leadership roles. There are a large number of Senior Vice Presidents, sometimes without clear scope or experience aligned to the title, which creates limited room for high-performing employees to grow. At times, it felt like senior leaders were being hired primarily to manage or communicate with other senior leaders, rather than drive meaningful operational impact. In product and go-to-market roles especially, priorities are often heavily driven by funding decisions. It can be frustrating when projects suddenly shift in importance or remain underfunded for long periods of time while awaiting senior leadership review. This sometimes leaves highly talented employees in limbo, unable to move initiatives forward despite strong momentum or market opportunity. The organization can also be very comfortable with the status quo, which creates a slower pace that many employees seem accustomed to. For people who are highly motivated and eager to drive change, it can feel difficult to navigate the number of roadblocks and layers of approval required to move initiatives forward.
