Pros

None. below industry pay, no continuing education programs, no professional development program.

Cons

MAXIMUS is the type of place that will try to offer you blue skies and more but in reality they are the most racist, most condescending, and the most dehumanizing place to work. College grads definitely beware before accepting an full time offer. Here are a couple of reasons: 1.) All Huge Trump Supporters- one of the top executives had a Trump mannequin with the sticker stating "deplorable lives matter" 2.) They recently took away their tuition reimbursement policy of $1,200 to 0 since they believe that having a Project Management Certification benefits all employees (news flash it doesn’t) 3.) There is no mentorship or feedback review process at all- even if you try to ask your supervisor for feedback you will get a typical response of “let’s set up a meeting” followed by nothing 4.) Human Resource department has the highest turnover of employees in all of the departments which speaks truly to how H/R treats their employees. 5.) High school drama. (Favoritism) 6.) Nothing ever grows here— the people seem to be stuck in their old traditionalist way so when you have an idea it will 100% of the time be dismissed. 7.) Not enough work but they expect you to be glued to the chair for 8 hours (aka be a body in a chair)

Cons

Not too many - a few misunderstanding s about training classes and roles but overall, not bad.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
