Pros

Not homogenous, you can get a variety of experience in different parts of Corporate Finance/Accounting Pay is decent relative to competitors in the area* Travel and other opportunities for exposure with the right connections within the organization Flexible work arrangements

Cons

*Pay is below the national average for the role Outsourcing higher level finance functions (India), creates concerns for growth and job security You're only as good as your manager, the performance structure forces people to compete against peers You have to seek out development opportunities, management doesnt seem as vested, The "right connections" is a slippery slope. You have to network to survive, but if it doesn't work out your career will stall People will do stuff the way it was always done without thinking outside the box or questioning

Pros

Good support for new people managers were very helpful and always available

Cons

Micromanage every second of your time; have to put in a request to go to the bathroom and wait for someone to grant it Expect you to put exceptions to your time after your shift ends on your own time Half hour lunch by the time I brought my lunch or heated my leftovers and went to the bathroom. I barely had time to wolf it down. Unrealistic call times Systems are horrible and crashing all the time expect you to be in at least 15 minutes before your shift unpaid to set up all the programs on your computer
