Pros
Microbe gave me my first big break after graduating college. They looked closer at my talents and work ethic than they did at my resume and gave me the chance to take care of my family when I needed it the most. I didn't expect to build such lasting and important friendships when I first began, but I couldn't imagine not having some of these people around me. I'm stretched everyday and learn everyday.
Cons
Microbe is still technically a start-up. They've seen lots of success in the past couple of years and while the office is run like a massive business, the leadership is still learning how best to operate, communicate, and point forward. While this can be frustrating at time, is opens the doors for all team members to rise to the occasion and show what they're made of. I'm never bound by my job description. I often move into other arenas to complete a project. At times, this can be hindering to my focus, but I always learn more that way. The pitfalls of a small company are here. This may be frustrating for some but it will provide great learning opportunities for all.
