Pros
Well recognized global and financially strong company. Strong communication about stability and outlook for the company, Relocation and/or sign on bonus for more experianced employees.
Cons
Sub-standard benefits package (0.25% match up to 4% of salary= 1% total match)- this is one of the lowest in the industry, might as well be 0%. They say this is because of the 'lucritive' profit sharing program... which has been eliminated, and wasn't very much to begin with. OK Medical and dental insurance, but no vision insurance available. Vacation package is a joke - 10 days/year after 2 years (15 days for your first 2 years TOTAL) Vacation package is NON-NEGOTIABLE upon start, regardless of your work experiance. No personal days- period. Comp time? Forget it. The 6 month and annual performance reviews take hours to fill out, only to never hear anything back from management on how you did. However, if you had any errors or performance issues, it only comes up during the review time- like a slap in the face. They require you to hold your employee stock purchases for 6 months before you can do anything with them. Everyone here seems to be mad at the world or something, I can't tell you how many times people pass you in a hallway and just grunt or stare blankly as you pass them. This list seems to get bigger and bigger as the years pass, it just seems like every time I turn around an employee "perk" is thrown out the window. (annual holiday turkey for your family, summer time icecream social, reimbursement for home internet, annual profit share, tuition reimbursement, milestone anniversary bonus- 5 year incriments, etc) Now I know there has recently been a recession and a lot of companies cut programs and incentives.. but most of these cuts were made PRIOR to the first sign of a recession (early 2008). This is just my opinion- these things may not be of importance for you.
