Pros
Overtime OK pay for shop work Respected in retail Share options Flexibility to work on different departments Staff are generally friendly, but as with any retail job, gossiping occurs! Being able to see stock pre-sale!
Cons
Power stuggles on the shop floor! Hours are now being cut and redundancies made The Next Sale - up at 4am for a 5am start, for shop managers, even earlier! Working on 26th and 27th Dec often mandatory. The staff contract specfies work hours to the 'needs of the business' and this is used at Christmas! There is virtually no flexibilty not to work the Next sale.
