Pros

TA used to be such a great job with even better culture. It has a good product but at what costs

Cons

I was TripActions’ #1 fan after they hired me and gave me a great job and coworkers I called family. It was great for just about a year and then everything changed. While some of the middle managers are unqualified I think that’s justifiable in many case. But across multiple teams the managers only made the jobs worse for their employees. But the real issues started when the new CRO Carlos came in. Before even meeting him you could sense negativity. After being a top performer across the company I was promised a promotion month after month to only be given some excuse at last minute. They really beat me down mentally and emotionally every time even though I busted my butt for them because of a poor month during Covid. But this goes way further than my personal story. With Carlos the company went from a CRO in Rich who cared about every employee, remembered names from other offices, remembered stories to Carlos who only cares about the bottom line. The culture became so toxic and unhealthy with multiple employees quitting just to get away from it. Everyone had a fear of what was going to happen next and who was going to get let go and all of this happening during the peak of Covid. They no longer care about the employee and you’re only a number. Only “what have you done for me lately.” I used to love TripActions, I really really did but this company is a shell of what it used to be. I feel for my old coworkers that still work there and hear it hasn’t changed at all. I just hope they can rediscover their roots and get out from underneath the wreckage that Carlos brought to TA.

Pros

Competitive compensation and strong benefits package. The coworkers and frontline teams are one of the company’s greatest strengths many are incredibly hardworking, supportive, and committed to helping both customers and teammates succeed.

Cons

Significant operational gaps continue to impact efficiency and employee experience. Reporting systems and workforce planning frequently feel disconnected from the realities of day-to-day operations. Employees and leaders are often expected to be accountable for metrics without reliable reporting or clear guidance on how those metrics are measured. Workload distribution can feel inconsistent, creating an environment where some teams and managers become overextended while others are underutilized. This contributes to burnout, frustration, and a lack of confidence in operational decision-making.
