Pros
Salary and unlimited PTO are the biggest perks. Having Netflix on the resume is also a big plus when looking for new opportunities.
Cons
Leadership, at least in the Tech organization, has some of the filthiest individuals you can imagine. Managers and Directors that will lie, spread untrue gossip and perpetrate their own agenda for selfish reasons. Remote regions will shield information and silence their teams in order to show UCAN only what they want. Leaders won't admit that they don't know what they don't know, so they will put all the blame on low level employees, fire them, re-org and start over. In 2023 we reorged at least once a quarter, resulting in many good people being exited unfairly. The good days of Netflix were over when Reed left as CEO, now is all about money and power. The top of the market salary is a good perk, but in the long term makes people terrified of losing their jobs, turning the whole company in a back stabbing, self preservation survival game. Employees don't realize how much stress they are under, and there's a lot of complaining in the hallways. However, if any of this reaches a leader, you can be sure there will be consequences. The open feedback culture is a joke, don't even think about giving honest feedback to a leader if you want to keep your job. I'm glad I joined the company when Reed was leading, but I wouldn't recommend today's Netflix to my worst enemy.
