Pros

Nordstrom discount but because the company is so disorganized it’ll come on a slip of paper called “temp” and you’ll never get a real card. Other than that if you enjoy a toxic culture where HR doesn’t have employee interests in mind and leadership doesn’t understand eCommerce, then join up. TC hasn’t turned a profit in 10 years. What’s another 10! Go TC! Meanwhile people act very nice to your face and then complain to the revolving door of leadership because they fear their own job. In 6-9 months in 2019, they cycled through 7 leadership changes. That’s not change, that’s anarchy. Every company has mixed reviews. Culture is hard. But when TC consistently scores at 2.4 - 2.6 you have to wonder ... hmmmmm

Cons

Not Turning a profit. Teams not working well together. Not engendering a trusting environment that supports growth in Chicago and from Seattle. Teams with consistent lack of respect for one another. Getting yelled at from people in Seattle, told you’re an idiot or laughed at over the phone. I went to Old Orchard recently and the busiest line was returns. FYI your market cap just dropped again.

Pros

Decent base pay, somewhat autonomous, great tip potential.

Cons

The company has changed for the worse since COVID. When I came back the mood of the entire store had shifted. Gone were the days of comradery, customer focus, and taking pride in a job well done. In its place there is a new culture of cutthroat sales, a severe decline in customer focus, and worst of all a new focus on profit over customer satisfaction. When I was told that the amount the store charged for a shoe shine was not enough to do the best job I could for a customer I knew things had gone downhill for the company. Not to mention I watch a manager prey on a mentally disabled person in order to secure a sale, when the person could not understand what was being offered. Sad that such a once great company is now just another greed ridden corporation.
