Pros
People at lower levels or individual contributors are amazing specialists, sometimes best I knew in my whole career. Mostly remote, but that seems to be changing due to lack of trust and not punishing those who do not obey the rules.
Cons
People at C-level who constantly underdeliver are being promoted, gaining bonuses and put in the spotlight. Experts are ignored, while stupid ideas are getting standing ovations. Older staff, migrating from broker to broker, without actual hands-on experience not interested in changing the status quo and improving products, as that would expose thier lacks in craftsmanship. Heads setting objectives and admitting they are not attainable in order to "motivate". Micromanagement at its best - constant updates, meetings, catch-ups not leaving time for actual work to be done. Whistleblowing is not working unless you disclose your name in the process, protecting those who abuse employees. Everyone is awaiting yearly bonus and will abandon this sinking ship at the first occasion. I referred a friend in the past and now I feel guilty watching this person getting their spine broken by this job.
