Pros
As all reviews will mention, the service users truly are the highlight of the job. Their wonderful personalities and varying characteristics make the working day fly by.
Cons
Unfortunately, that is the only pro I have to write about PCAS Kent. The faults of PCAS lie at the top, with budget cuts, inexperienced managers and a high turnover of staff. The directors will do anything to save a few quid, including trying to worm their way out of not buying first aid kits for the homes they support. Managers are inexperienced and often lack care or consideration, whilst there are good managers and team leaders, they are rare and are treated no better than the underperforming ones. As other reviews have mentioned, there are varying ongoing investigations going on, but ultimately they will be swept under the carpet and ignored as previous incidents have done so. Staff say they will not bother to report incidents anymore to managers as they know nothing will come of it.
There are no benefits to working at PCAS Kent, and they even advertise that on their website and job listings, with their most prestigious benefit being a "Blue Light Card", which anyone who works in care may claim, a pension scheme (if you can even call it that)
At the end of the day, PCAS Kent is a business, and as such, their own pockets will come first before the well-being of service users.
