Pros

I changed careers in my late 30s after working in television and being on air for nearly 15 years. In that time, I met my wife and started a family and the work/life balance scale always tipped toward work. I always felt like I was on call. My mental health suffered, I wasn't eligible for a promotion in my role, my pay didn't always keep up with cost-of-living, and etc. At Paycom, I celebrate the normal-ness of my schedule. A set time Monday through Friday. Work stays at work and I don't feel guilty taking time away. I'm awarded the opportunity to learn and grow in my role and have learned the value of honest feedback, not to point out my wrongs, but to help me improve. My merit is based on my performance and I'm always encouraged to try new things. This has been the best work environment I've ever experienced.

Cons

It's a payroll company, so there's a lot of acronyms and jargon to learn and the atmosphere can feel daunting at first. Once you've been through on-boarding and begin to settle into your role, it doesn't seem as scary.

Pros

The work we do is challenging but is satisfying. $4 dollar lunches are great and I enjoy the people and managers I work with. We have gone through changes, but the changes are worth it and the tools we are provided keep us successful. The salary is great and top level, highly recommend working here if you love a challenge. I promise you’ll never be bored.

Cons

The workload and hours can be heavy at times, but the long-term gratification is worth it. Paycom is about long-term investment, and it requires patience and perseverance but it’s worth it, if you are strong enough.

Pros

* Fast learning and professional skill growth. * Great people and strong teams. * Recognized name in the OKC community. * Valuable experience that strengthens future career opportunities, especially in Tech.

Cons

Over the past couple of years, career growth has felt extremely limited. Promotions and meaningful raises have become increasingly rare, and many employees believe these decisions are being driven from the very top. Layoffs and terminations have also become common, creating a constant sense of uncertainty. High performers often take on high-visibility projects with aggressive timelines and limited support. The expectations are unrealistic, and even successful delivery doesn’t usually lead to recognition or advancement. Leadership tends to make decisions very late, creating unnecessary urgency and forcing teams into last-minute scrambles. Benefits have declined, opportunities for advancement have become scarce, and overall morale has suffered significantly. There are talented people here and it can be a good place to gain experience, but I would view it primarily as a stepping stone rather than a long-term destination.
