Cons
Overall: army style management, cocky leaders who don't know much about leadership, extremely number-oriented, super long working hours, tricky incentive scheme, etc. *long review alert* For future job applicants who want to get a taste of how this company is like you can simply read the positive reviews that suddenly emerged in early October 2015 - all written by the seniors and management who tried to fake like everything is good in this company, and pushed its employee review score from below 2.5 to above 3.0 (good job, I must say). See? The ultimate culture of this sickening company made up of autocratic management. The Chairman, CEO and management only point their fingers at the consultants but never reflect on themselves. They treat themselves as God and they said their "effort" should be appreciated, yet they hardly do any management - all they do is asking you to report your numbers. They treat consultants as cash cows only and give them a tiny fraction out of the large sum of revenue they have generated for the company, but still make themselves seem like some kind-hearted, giving employers. The minute you leave them for good you will be called a drag, a quitter, a loser, a traitor, etc. Work is very, very KPI-driven - a lot of numbers count even down to the number of calls you make. True that the job nature is sales oriented and KPI is needed, but I am sure it is much more demanding than other firms' and they do not take into account of the situations of your team or the scale of projects you work on. You are a bad consultant when you don't have enough numbers on the BI reporting system. DAILY sales meeting is meaningless as it focuses mainly on, again, reporting the number of your activities. The team leaders rarely give useful advices but only urge you to make more calls and sell more. They can be excellent salespeople themselves but cannot explain to you how to sell your candidates strategically (indeed there is never such a thing as a strategy - they just cast their nets everywhere). Plus the meeting takes a lot of time so you may have to spend extra time to catch up for your assignments. They say they care about developing people but they allow newcomers only very short time to develop and build their base. The team leaders care about your numbers more than anything because your numbers are also part of their numbers. They ensure you achieve those targets in order to avoid blames from the management. They also say nonsense stuff and convey distorted values like "work is life and life is work", "success = money", "only when you have enough money you can enjoy things in life (e.g attracting a girl/boyfriend with money)", etc. The company's name is notorious among clients and candidates due to past faults, unsatisfactory delivery, and irresponsible selling techniques which makes it difficult for consultants to get business opportunities and trust. Extremely high turnover rate - the minute you just join a team and the next minute your teammates can be all gone and you are left without any mentorship and worse still, you have to clean up their messes. At some point of time they tried to hire senior consultants instead of fresh graduates to save training cost and increase placement rate. But these seniors left quicker than anyone else because they know this company is sickening, Colleagues are not trustworthy as they are always eavesdropping and will report your words to the managers - even if it is just a causal conversation with your candidate. They try their best to backstab people whenever there is a chance so it is advised not to treat anyone as friend in this company. There are also surveillance cameras at every corner of the office and the managers will monitor you work through their mobile phones, which makes you feel like working in North Korea. They say you are given automacy but in fact you are watched very closely as their slave. They exploit consultants with tricky incentive scheme - very little amount of incentive resulted from layers and layers of deduction incl. your payroll cost, tax, the employer's CPF, etc. (For other firms it's usually directly 20-30% out of the billing without layers of subtraction.) Useless 15-minute low-intensity exercise every morning to compensate for the exercises you cannot afford time to do due to long working hours. This company is under HRnet Group. Its another subsidiary company HRnet One also got lots of negative reviews (well be careful of the recent positive comments from the management) which will give a more complete picture of how working in PeopleSearch is like because they share the same CEO and similar policies. Note. I am NOT a current employee and things may have changed (although very unlikely). So for future applicants please take this review for reference only and try to talk to junior consultants inside first, and decide if you are a good fit to join this hellhole.
