Pros
Outstanding Retirement Benefits: The company offers a highly competitive 16% employer EPF contribution, which is significantly higher than the standard statutory rate. Excellent Legacy Medical Coverage: For tenured employees, the medical benefits are fantastic, offering unlimited coverage (with only standard industry exceptions like cosmetic procedures). Internal Mobility and Stability: It is a stable environment where you can move laterally. I have been able to hold 4 different positions during my 14-year tenure here.
Cons
Severe Wage Compression: There is a glaring disparity between tenured staff and new hires. New joiners frequently come in with higher salaries and higher corporate rankings, despite lacking the essential experience, local operational knowledge, and familiarity with company manuals that long-term staff possess. Broken Performance Management: The performance review system is highly inconsistent. Loyalty, deep institutional knowledge, and consistent performance are not adequately rewarded. (For context, despite 14 years of consistent performance, I have only been promoted once). Two-Tier Benefit System: While older staff enjoy unlimited medical, newer joiners are placed on a "Health Flex" system with capped coverage, which creates an unequal benefits structure across the team.
