Pros

Cool coworkers and nice office

Cons

I was excited to start at Relay and bring my experience to the table. I immediately felt like my career had stepped back 5 years. Employees are expected to make the impossible happen and are publicly reprimanded when they don’t. You are both expected to be fully in it while leadership blocks you out. They make it clear who they trust and don’t trust, so you always feel on the outside. Leadership makes decisions that prevent teams from hitting goals, then they blame you and refuse to pay bonuses. They act confused that employees don’t want to dedicate their lives to Relay. It’s pretty simple. When your employees feel constantly snubbed they don’t care. They have a cool idea, but a complete lack of leadership. There is zero career growth, management nor learning happening here. They screwed up by offering a credit card without knowing how a credit card works, and now the employees are paying for it. Mass layoffs and leadership seems under pressure from the board. Honestly just walk away.

Many of our best ideas have come directly from our team members who’ve Owned the Work and shared their on-the-ground expertise to make both our products and our company better. We’re very proud of that fact and those folks are monetarily rewarded for their great ideas! We wish you well in whatever comes next.

Pros

There is nothing worth mentioning

Cons

- Relay Payments is one of the most unhealthy and chaotic environments I have ever worked in - Turnover is extreme, with employees constantly coming and going in a short time - New hires disappear withing weeks as if they were never there - The "owner" title feels misleading, as it mostly translates to higher pressure, higher targets, and more responsibility with little return - Plans constantly change without warning - Compensations shifts unpredictably, making it difficult to trust what is promised -Deals fall apart for unclear reasons with little to no explanation - Clear answers and transparency are rarely provided - There is no real stability or path for growth, only constant scrambling to keep up with nonstop change
