Pros

Offer very good benefits and recognize the work-life balance is important. They respect your personal life and realize that things happen during work hours. They try to help improve careers and are willing to assist in the learning process. Safety is very key, sometimes overwhelming, but every personnel's safety, including contractors and visitors, is high priority. Rich culture environment with people from many different backgrounds and cultures.

Cons

Due to multiple sites being miles apart, communication and meetings suffer a bit. Some days feel like you're driving more than work. Most communication between sites is done via phone conference meetings which take away from meetings at times. Favoritism of different sites also exist among some managers. They are attempting to improve communication, but it still has a way to go.

Pros

Local environment is very friendly and laid back. Everyone is helpful. The benefit package is nice as well. We do get the option to purchase company shares, 100% company match up to 6% for 401k plus additional deposits.

Cons

Our company was recently purchased by Rio Tinto and their IT groups are very secular and specialized which makes it hard to communicate and get things resolved. I’ve also compared my salary to others with the same job title within manufacturing companies in my state and found my salary is way below the benchmark.
