Pros
Service Care Solutions is a specialist recruitment agency, specialising in various sectors ranging from Social Care to Construction (see web site for full information). Each team is focused on providing a quality service within its own market and always striving to improve. The Managing Director, Richard is highly driven and passionate about the business and each team within the company, which is a real driving force for all employees from management down to trainee consultants. Recently the company has made very positive steps with regards to modernising in its methods by introducing more flexible working hours for employee's and reviewing the remuneration structure within the company, which I feel staff appreciate. There has also been much more of an effort to listen to ideas/suggestions from employees as well as communicate more effectively with staff at all levels. The company promotes from within which is a great way of incentivising progression and motivating all employees within the company. The atmosphere within my team has been good for most of my time at Service Care Solutions, but I feel it has improved even more in the last 6 months.
Cons
I feel that the company can be fairly rigid at times. For example consultants are reminded that there is a heavy focus on business development across the company, yet the terms we are to put to prospective new clients are in my opinion rather inflexible given that we are competing in a saturated market. This is especially true in my market, where reputable competitors are offering much more competitive rates in order to attract new business. Yes the service that the company provides is good but you need to be able to be given the opportunity to show what the company can provide prospective clients. Can this be done with the current rates in all markets? I also feel that there are some people within the business that are maybe not as supportive or welcoming as they could be with regards to helping new consultants develop and realise their potential. I know for a fact that I was made to feel rather uncomfortable and stupid at times in my first few months with the company due to such behaviour. I am a little frustrated that when leaving the company and you serve your notice, you are left guessing somewhat as to exactly what you will be paid for with regards to commission etc. and when you will receive it, despite seeking clarification on several occasions. I have numerous bills to pay and need to know what to expect in my pay slip, especially at Christmas time.
