Pros

ServiceNow has one of the best company cultures I've ever experienced. They seem to really value their employees and work hard to bring a work-life balance to the company. They also seem to truly value equity and diversity and aren't just giving it lip service. They also listen to employee feedback, and in general everyone is respectful and easy to get along with. A great sense of team building and belonging!

Cons

Improvements need to be made from an engineering standpoint. Sometimes I think it is too difficult to have teams on different continents trying to work together on projects. Also, diversity and equity are stressed, and there are areas to improve. Need more female management in engineering and the DT organization in general. Need more diversity in hiring practices instead of managers hiring teams of their ethnic backgrounds. Diversity means just that - people from all ethnicities and all parts of the world, not just where their managers are from.

Pros

ServiceNow had a differentiated platform and products. Early on the culture had a startup energy that was rare for a company this size collaborative teams, ownership, and a sense that people actually cared about outcomes. Working with large enterprise customers on complex workflows was interesting work.

Cons

The ServiceNow I joined was a different company. As headcount increased, so did the bureaucracy, layers, and friction that rewarded politics over execution. The layoffs of the last few years were handled poorly little transparency, inconsistent communication, and decisions that felt made far above with little thought for the people affected. The "cost optimization" messaging rang hollow against continued executive spending. For a company that sells workflow and people process tools, the irony of a chaotic RIF wasn't lost on anyone in the field or on customers. Leadership political dynamics were real. The right team, the right manager you had cover. Performance alone didn't protect you.
