Pros

Salary was competitive and I met some great people (complete waste of talent though).

Terrible leadership & direction - The CEO talks a huge game, but delivers very little. They keep firing members of the ELT hoping that the next person is the silver bullet that the company needs. There was never any commission plan in place for the sales or customer success team. Avoid this at all costs if you're looking for a sales role. There is no money to be made. Equity was promised during the interview phase and was outlined in the employment contract, but this was a complete lie. Terrible software (all three versions of it): V1 is the only one that kind of works (but is full of bugs and is very weak compared to the competition), V2 was complete vapourware and was scrapped by the business, and V3 aka 'Marvel' (the Microsoft based platform advertised on the website) is complete smoke and mirrors. The ELT also decided it was best to outsource the development of 'Marvel' to a third party Microsoft partner because they laid off the entire development team in Brisbane. Awful culture - all built on lies and deceit, and many promises were unkept. They're lying to their prospects, customers, employees and investors. They have burnt through tens of millions of dollars of investor's money and have very little to show for it. They rely on investor money to survive because there's very little revenue coming in.

Our global product development team -- which is a hybrid of in-house and outsourced resources -- is building on this in partnership with Microsoft. The market opportunity is enormous and we have made great strides in the past year towards capitalising on this. Our staff are well-remunerated and we are working hard to build a great culture based on commitment, teamwork and transparency.

Pros

Working at Simple.biz has been a rewarding experience overall. One of the best aspects is the work-life balance. Management is understanding, and there’s a lot of flexibility in scheduling. The team culture is another highlight, everyone is supportive, and there’s a real sense of camaraderie, making it an enjoyable environment. Additionally, professional growth is encouraged here, and I’ve had the opportunity to learn new skills and take on more responsibility. The leadership team is approachable and genuinely listens to feedback, working hard to improve processes and support staff. The benefits package is also competitive, including great compensation and performance bonuses.

Cons

The role is dynamic and fast-paced, which keeps things exciting. While there are occasional busy periods with overlapping projects, the company provides excellent training and support to help us navigate those high-demand moments.
