Pros
Interesting projects and clients, great to get experience working with various teams. Some team members have really good intent and want to champion/see others succeed.
Cons
Lack of appreciation for existing or long term employees. They don’t support you to progress and expect you to take on responsibilities 3/4 levels above you, without a change in title, wage and sometimes without suitable training. I started off on a 3 month intern contract, got offered an extension, and another, and another… but not security or certainty. Although I had been with them for 2 years (and at one point was one of the longest standing employees), I was consistently told I was an intern and/or had to overcome more hurdles in order to be granted at least just a different title, let alone wage. They gave me projects to lead on and large budgets, and when client facing I wasn’t allowed to present myself as an intern… so acting up when it suited them but when asked to be acknowledged for the work I was actually doing, I was messed around.
