Pros

The strategy work is challenging, fulfilling and intellectually stimulating. Even the proposals are really interesting.

Cons

The firm doesn't seem to be doing well. There were stretches during my first year where I saw a lot of people on unstaffed and not working on client billable work. As a result, saw many of my peers laid off after less than a year at the firm. Some of them had great reviews, but low billability and utilization rates caused them to get the ax. There also didn't seem to be a counseling out process that exists at all other top tier firms. So when you are laid off, you are abruptly shown the door. The experiences at Strategy& are like a tale of two firms. There are some really great projects and people, but the unsteady pipeline and the lack of a counsel out process are terrible for recent MBA grads. So I do not recommend this firm if you have other options.

Pros

You can get a good amount of beach time. If you have a lot going on in your life, that may be a good thing. If you are young and need to learn, don't let that happen. Being busy and grinding (within reason) is more worth it than things being too chill. Some projects that had travel had good culture.

Cons

Layoffs all the time for wrong reasons, way too remote with no ability to get young and hungry people the experience in person they need. Always stressing about utilization.
