Pros
- Employees - Credit Unions have some of the best employees, with some of the most member focused goals. Summit has great employees in all of their departments. - Community Involvement - Summit is very community focused and shows it by allowing employees to volunteer as paid time. - Pay - Pay is good and fairly competitive for the area. - People - I would like to stress that most people I worked with in all departments are awesome and our member facing staff are some of the best in the industry.
Cons
- Middle Management - Middle Management will do anything to better themselves, without consideration for their direct reports or teams. Throwing people under the bus is common, along with a complete lack of support. "How can I help you" followed by "I don't think you're that busy" is all but uncommon. - Work Life Balance - It's no secret that Salary positions sometimes have 40 hour weeks and sometimes have 60 hour weeks. That's nature of the beast, but not every week should be a 50 or 60 hour week, followed by managers stating you're not meeting demands. I was actually told that I should work more nights to catch up on work, after being forced to work through holiday weekends and many week nights. - Adaptation - Summit did a great job adapting to the Pandemic and the changes that came with for individuals to work remotely. Managers did not necessarily do as great of a job adapting to employee's needs to be successful. Some managers prefer methods of management that they know are not working for their team, but instead of finding an alternative method, they continue to push these methods so they don't have to research or implement alternative methods. This leads to employee frustrations and managers putting the blame on their employees.
