Pros
The manager was unfit to be a manager, but he is more unfit to be promoted. Not sure on what basis management promoted him just because his senior got retired and he is in the company from 10+ years? He was given opportunity to climb the ladder and bully his juniors who are having more technical knowledge than him and he doesn't like people who play jokes with him.
Cons
Senior managers and directors should take time when promoting a person who is there in the company more than 10 year is really an asset to the company or is he behaving as if he is owning the company. He can maintain his religion people in the office and makes jokes all over the parties and bully the people doesnt play jokes
