Pros

“Free lunch” but made to stay inside.

Cons

Paid salary which is illegal for all of us Mandatory 9-630 and not able to go outside Favoritism to those that say “yes” to the owners even if it’s wrong. Those who work on Saturdays are paid in cash. Is that legal? One guy falls asleep on the job for hours and no one says anything The owner should retire and let people modernize their job Taking PTO is looked badly “Family” environment is their family not yours. Rotating door on people who come in. Lead operations officer doesn’t do anything. No record of time keeping or actual paystubs are given out. Toxic. Everyone is miserable. Don’t be fooled by “high” wages. Working 50+ work weeks is what they expect. Worst health insurance ever offered.

This review is so old that I hesitated to respond to it. However, I do want to point out that many of the items that this person complained about that have changed, including: - We still offer free lunch everyday, but people have a choice and if they want to go out instead to run errands, etc. they are free to do so. - All workers are now hourly, we converted to this over a year ago. - Our work hours are indeed from 9am - 6:30 with a one hour lunch break and, as mentioned above, if you want to leave during your lunch break you are free to do so. - No one is paid in cash. I'm not sure where that even comes from, but we have an HR tool (Paylocity) where hours are tracked and that we use to issue payments on a weekly basis. (Yes, we pay people weekly.) Also, this means that we have both records of time keeping and online paystubs. - There is no one who falls asleep on the job for hours. We are high energy, hard working team. - Everyone is given PTO and encouraged to use it. The only time it is discouraged is during the end of year retail blitz (mid-Nov through Christmas), which is very normal for a retailer. This is our Super Bowl and we really need everyone on-hand to help us meet all of our customer demands at this time. - I don't know about a "lead operations officer" who doesn't do anything. We recently promoted one of the members of our operations team to be our Operations Manager and he is exceptionally hard working. - Our regular work week is 42.5 hours. That means everyone works 2.5 hours of overtime each week (and they are paid overtime wages for this). There are a few people that will work more hours, but if they do so, they are paid overtime hours for this. - Our health insurance is actually very good. Insurance in general is tough these days (you really need to advocate for yourself to get the care you need, especially when it comes to prescriptions) but I know many people on the team with very high health requirements that are well served under our plan. And note that the company heavily subsidizes the insurance so that it is only ~$16.50 each week for the employee to get Medical, Dental and Vision coverage.

Pros

I've read a lot of the other reviews and I don't get it. This is a great place to work. We work hard, but we work as a team - no one is on commission, so we all work together. And then we have the opportunity to go out as a team every month or so.

Cons

We are constantly busy, which is not for everyone - but I like it. I've worked in other luxury retailers and we would spend half the day waiting around for something to happen, which I absolutely hated. Here, we have customers reaching out to us constantly, which keeps the day moving.

Thank you for the positive review and the feedback - and I couldn't agree with you more, I really enjoy how the Sales team works well together. SWE is very different than other places where people fight over customers to earn their commissions. And I really appreciate your positive attitude. SwissWatchExpo is a team of hard workers, who are not afraid to constantly improve and bring out the best in themselves and the team. It takes a lot of hard work to be the best, and that's what we're all about - trying to deliver exceptional value for our customers and to be the best.
