Pros
lots of good initial training, co-workers are fun to be around, happy hours can be fun. Great starting salary for someone right out of college and strong upside for commissions if you are willing to work 12 hour days.
Cons
I knew I had to leave this company when a senior Account Manager in the office (someone we were supposed to look up to as a leader) told me to lie to a candidate so the candidate will accept the 3 month contract job at Macy's and we get paid. We are supposed to be aligned to "skills, goals and interests" of our technical candidates but all we have in mind is making sure we make money. This job was not in the candidate's best interest. AM's get to leave work early on Fridays to golf and Recruiters are expected to be in the office at all times. There's no such thing as work/life balance and if you leave the office before 6pm it better be because of an emergency. Don't be there a minute after 7:30am too otherwise you will be scrutinized. Must be clean shaven and well dressed otherwise you will get sent home. Funny because the candidates we meet with mostly work for bay area tech companies and are wearing t shirts and jeans. The only reason why anyone works in this industry is to make money which is fine, but don't expect to get any personal satisfaction in this career or be able to brag to your friends about the shady work you do.
