Pros
Work with some good people, learn a lot, celebrated successes. Good for a first gig out of college, not something to career change into. Drink the juice or be tagged an outsider until you’re pushed out. There is a mass exodus of recruiters leaving the company for greener pastures so I guess that helps create opportunity for those that stay to suffer.
Cons
You will not be put in a position to succeed. It is very much sink or swim. Maybe you get lucky and get tied to a good account manager, but probably not. Even if you get lucky there, this AM already has a go to recruiter that will fill all their open roles. Some of the other recruiters will undercut you. Cold calling galore. Expect to be critiqued on your approach and conversations when they can’t blame your lack of activity/ effort as a reason you aren’t growing revenue. Super, I mean super, duper long hours. Comically low base salary. They will dangle commission in your face but reaching a comfortable pay check is going to take time, luck, and a ton of work. A ton of thankless, marginalizing work.
