However, there were also significant downsides that impacted my overall perception of the company. One of the main issues I encountered was with the management of the placements team. I found it to be toxic and unqualified, and lacking professionalism in its approach. Expressing any signs of discontent or constructive criticism, regardless of actual performance, would result in threats of performance reviews. This created an atmosphere of fear and hindered open communication within the team. It was frustrating to feel unable to express concerns or provide constructive feedback without real potential repercussions. One aspect that was noticeably lacking during my time at The Intern Group was the potential for growth and career development. There was a clear absence of structured pathways for advancement or opportunities to further develop one's skills and career. Without the incentivization of potential advancement, there is little guarantee of any real growth or success in the long term, especially for junior employees. That being said, it's worth noting that the experience at The Intern Group can vary depending on the department you are placed in. There are departments within the company that consist of excellent, motivated, bright, and emotionally intelligent individuals. If you land in one of these departments, your experience is likely to be more positive.
