Pros
Pay is alright and benefits packages can't be beat. You need to have a chess game mentality to climb up in the ranks here.
Cons
Management from Merrill Lynch was brought in, in bulk along with the head Executive Director of Merrill Edge, Rich Steinmeier. There was a long transition process with these new managers. They changed the Investment Center which was mainly a service center, into a full blown sales model, complete with commission compensation, and an Investment Product guide that lists what the FAs can sell. Management runs a tight ship and trying to keep up with sales goals will burn you out. Once that happens you either need an exit strategy, or otherwise you will be fired and easily replaced by someone who will have 90 days to get a series 7 and 66, and then they begin selling products with little to no experience.
