Pros

There are some great Financial Advisors at UBS-people with great personalities and always willing to give you valuable advice. Interning there was a valuable experience and it looks great on a resume! Your internship is whatever you make it. If you are satisfied with making copies and filing all day, then that is what you will be doing. The best part about UBS was the Financial Advisor I worked for. She assigned challenging projects that I learned a great deal from. The experience I gained working with her was more beneficial than many of the courses I took in college.

Cons

The senior management team needs improvement. Don't think that your internship will turn into a full-time position. With the lack of professionalism coming from the Senior Management, it will be very hard for you to prove yourself enough to get a full-time position. Senior Management would rather keep a position open (and lose money) than hire someone that already has experience with the firm. As hard as it is to fathom the thinking behind this, it is quite true. Prove yourself to the FA/team you are working with and they will be pose as fabulous references for your in the future, at the very least.

Pros

I really enjoyed the office, the culture was great. Professional but relaxed. Opportunities are available if you want to advance.

Cons

It really depended on which team you were put on, I enjoyed working with my FAs. Base pay was not particularly high and it was up to the FAs to add any compensation. Some do and some don't.
