Pros

Office is in a great location in the heart of Toronto's tech district.

Cons

To start I was completely lied to during my interview process. They stressed how great the culture is, how everyones opinion is valued, and that they are on the verge of redefining an industry. None of this could be further from the truth. [1] This is perhaps the worst culture I have ever experienced. The office is dead quiet throughout the day. No one in the company stays past 5 o'clock. No company events, after hour outings, etc. [2] The team is in a constant state of fear of losing their jobs. Since I've started I've seen countless people walked out the door not long after voicing their opinions about ways we could improve. Unacceptable for a growing startup. Turnover is a massive issue here. [3] The platform itself has a lot of issues/bugs under the hood. The CEO is convinced it's the greatest system ever which is quite laughable. If you criticize the system in any way you might as well pack up your desk because you won't be around long. [4] Everything about HR here is extremely unethical. It is hands down the most unprofessional I have ever worked with. (On top of directly lying to me about the role/company) they also gossip and spread rumours about employees. And with management blind to what's really going on the HR team is basically in charge of things.

Pros

- Driven, empathetic leadership team. - Unique software product unlike anything available on the market. - Dynamic work environment. Flexibility to be involved in different aspects of the company. - Amazing work culture. The company actually cares about you, try to ensure there's a proper work/life balance. - CEO that is humble, and approachable. John is the workhorse that propels the company forward, but carries himself with humility, and cares for each and all his employees. - Comparable salaries to larger companies - The ability to make your mark on the organization. Every employees efforts and contributions directly impact the organization.

Cons

It is a start-up environment, but I don't see that as a Con. It gives each employee an opportunity to make their mark, not be restricted by roles/departments, and have a direct impact on the organization.

Pros

- flexible work environment - disruptive product that's long overdue in the market - talented individuals - high profile, high potential, getting traction with enterprise accounts

Cons

As the first USA employee there have been some challenges setting up things like payroll, 401K, and medical. Many people up to the CEO have put in a lot of work to make it as smooth as possible however. Will pay off when they hire the next people in the USA.
