Pros

An opportunity to travel and explore the world. Meeting new people. No two days are ever the same. Fair concessionary travel although standby travel is stressful because it’s always space available. Passenger loads can change very quickly.

Cons

Zero respect from Crew Managers towards the cabin crew community. The company expect the world and give very little in return. Too much backstabbing at all levels. You really don’t know who you can trust. Many crew don’t like receiving feedback or being coached. Experienced managers are treated like fools who have to explain and justify everything they do. The image portrayed by the company is very different to the reality. Virgin Atlantic was once a big happy family. Those days are long gone. The company doesn’t value experience. They’re always ready and willing to get rid of long serving crew when the opportunity arises. Despite the government offering furlough during Covid to enable companies to keep their staff, many airlines including Virgin Atlantic used the opportunity to get rid of crew they no longer wanted. They were quickly replaced with younger people on different contracts. If you want to work for a company who offers job security and where you’ll feel appreciated, Virgin Atlantic is not the company to join.

A little too much traveling Pay needs to be higher Limited work support due to small teams Advancement options limited Due to the nature of Virgin being a luxury service, the customers can be rude and very pushy
