Pros

Transportation stipend, lunch everyday, and good snack wall. But that's the only real positive here, and if you look through the other reviews it'll also be the only positives that most Vungle employees can honestly cite. However, if this is the bar, note that a free meal and a bus ticket is also what you get when you're released from prison. You also learn what you can put up with and how to operate in a political environment. And the few good, smart people left will naturally gravitate toward each other. These are great connections to make, and when they leave for better pastures, your network will grow, too.

Cons

Vungle is a toxic place to work. I've never been a part of a company as dishonest, disorganized, irrational, and just plain mean and sexist as this one. They don't appreciate These are harsh criticisms and I don't say them lightly. I generally don't write Glassdoor reviews, but my time at Vungle and the actions I witnessed there were atrocious enough to compel me to say something. Staying quiet about this place would be a disservice to anyone considering joining Vungle. Dishonesty is one my biggest issues with Vungle. The leadership and management team seem to have no issue lying when it suits their needs. Vungle's tech is far behind the competition. Yet, from how they speak about their product, you wouldn't know that the reality is far different. This behavior is definitely something I can't condone, both morally and from a business perspective. Vungle is fortunate that the mobile advertising market is flushed with cash right now. $37 billion is being poured into mobile ads alone this year. There's that saying, a rising tide lifts all boats. This is certainly the case this easy market raising up all mobile ad networks, not just Vungle. It's the only reason Vungle is moving a lot of demand, because of the digital ad market's over-saturated spend. AdColony, AppLovin, InMobi, Unity and others still make more revenue so it's hard to judge Vungle's business health. Another example of Vungle's dishonesty, look at the company's reviews on Glassdoor. Whenever a negative review appears, it'll be followed soon after by a flood of positive "reviews" that praise the company and, in turn, bury the negative reviews further down. But I assure you, the criticisms stated by others on Glassdoor aren't unfounded. I've witnessed countless questionable and prejudicial actions during my time at the company. The culture is so toxic and bad that it's almost comical. Imagine the worst instances of incompetence and passive aggressiveness, most people are mean-spirited. It's like they all read this business book that said in order to get ahead, cut everyone else down in public meetings so you look smart and more like a "leader." If you aren't friends with the right people, don't want to go drinking or play basketball, not cool with offensive conversations and jokes, don't like criticizing others for the sake of criticizing them, then you won't get very far at Vungle. I've been in meetings where I've seen two people say the exact same idea, but because the first person wasn't in with the cool kids, they were dismissed, while the second person who was in with them was praised. All of a sudden the idea became strategically viable because it came out of the right mouth. Vungle is a frat/bro culture where favoritism is the norm. If you're friends with the right people and comfortable with knowing that decisions made at all levels will be determined by your social standing, gender, and whether you're really good at talking over everyone else regardless whether your idea is good or bad, then Vungle is the place for you. Everyone else, stay away.

Pros

Smart and humble people to work with; great team work within and across departments; lots of opportunity to have impact (it's encouraged); leadership is open to feedback and acts on it promptly; everyone wants each other to be successful; flexibility to work from home and/or office

Cons

It's a growing company in a fast changing industry so things can change and become a bit hectic at times which might not be for everyone

Pros

Low ego and collaborative culture. Being proactive will help you get ahead here. From my experience, hard work goes noticed as does humility. There is a lot of opportunity here but, in line with the title, being ambitious and proactive is a key to capitalizing on that opportunity. Since working here I've seen a shift in focus, specifically around product, towards disrupting the big players in mobile advertising. Things may have seemed stagnant from a product perspective some time ago, but the company was experiencing rapid, organic growth. This isn't unique to Vungle but I'm glad it is being addressed. Overall, the culture, opportunity, company trajectory, and collaborative is great here. Typical start up perks include catered lunches, lunch stipend on non-catered days, commuting reimbursement, snacks/food/beer/wine/etc, and gym reimbursement. Pretty impressive for a company of this size.

Cons

Lack of maturity with middle management with respect to professional experience. This isn't to say middle managers are immature, but relatively early in their careers' for the position that they're in. This also doesn't go for everyone, but in certain departments there are people who are still figuring out their path that could be replaced with someone who could add much more value. Some higher level managers/VPs seem to get too caught up in the weeds but that is expected in a business at this stage. Another con would be the lack of data quality & knowledge of legacy systems. For a company this young, obtaining clean data shouldn't be such a struggle. Finally, the ambiguity around high level strategy from top management is somewhat discomforting. I'm confident it doesn't mean bad news but some more transparency would be appreciated.
