Pros
-Friendly, nurturing culture -Fun environment for 20/30-somethings -People who perform well often get promoted
Cons
-Messy, buggy codebase -Company stingy about investing in new technology/equipment -Culture of getting things done quickly even if they are partially broken -Becoming increasingly corporate, with BS meetings and superficial productivity metrics that encourage quantity over quality -Pay below market average -Work-life balance not always great for engineers, depending on team. Sometimes engineers have to work late into the night or be on-call during weekends -Supposedly transparency is a core value of the company, but many important decisions are made behind closed doors -Employees and managers vary greatly with respect to engineering ability and communication skills -Not an exciting company to work for in terms of its mission (selling furniture, and beating out local Mom & Pop furniture stores)
