Pros

There are no pros to working at ZARA. The manager will even forget that your three month probation period is over (well mine did) and after you have reminded them they will take an extra month to hand you a lousy 25% discount card and your uniform. After three months of wearing your own black clothing and sweating in the hot store. If you get a job at ZARA sure you might feel like ZARA is a great company at first when they sugarcoat it and tell you "we are a people company" but you will later realize the only people they care about are in job positions above them.

Cons

The cons are everything about working at ZARA. ZARA was my first retail job, they did train me but the training was not useful. When they made me work the first day I was bullied by other girls in the women's department because I could not perform my job "properly" (I wonder who's fault that was). During a sale, customers come in and DESTROY clothing, THROW clothing on to the ground, HIDE CLOTHING in the store, bring in 40+ items into the fitting room, and STEAL items. YET the managers use the "customers are always right" method to justify when a customer harasses, abuses the clothing and mocks employees for enforcing store policy. Yet none of the things I mentioned are the worst part of my personal experience at ZARA. The men's department manager (not my department) hovered over my shoulder while I was working and told me that I'm not focusing on customers stealing? Even though the store had security guards, right after he frightened me I approached a customer regarding the alarm sounding and she started a scene in the store. Yet that manager himself knowing very well he provoked me, had blamed the situation on me to maintain his image as a manager. Another manager would yell at us when we would unload truck shipments at 7AM in the morning and tell us to "work faster girls!" or would yell at us if we were not working fast enough for them (rapid speed). Was I a factory machine or a human being at ZARA? A week later, a girl co-worker begged me to take her shift over WhatsApp at 1 AM in the morning and found out when my breaks were so that she could ask for my shift even when I kept saying no. Managers did give me a complaint form but did not resolve the issue between me and the other coworker. Last but not least I received constant bullying from female coworkers in the women's department. They would laugh at how I work, tell me not to "make the same mistakes" when I didn't make any mistakes and laugh at my nails as a group. When I mentioned these things to the manager they just told me I am "fragile" and did not resolve anything. by the way, quitting was the best thing I have done for myself.

Pros

My coworkers and Managers felt like a family I felt supported and was able to make good connections At the time I was there my managers made it feel less daunting to ask questions or come to them if I had concerns about customers . I feel like if I stayed with Zara longer I would have been able to move within the company easily.

Cons

Air conditioning didn't work while I was there.
