Leadership and Culture Need Significant Improvement - Marketing Manger Zendrop Employee Review

The team moves fast, there’s a strong culture of ownership, and people genuinely care about driving results. One of the things I’ve appreciated most is the amount of autonomy and trust. If you identify an opportunity and can back it up with data, leadership is open to testing new ideas and moving quickly.

Like many fast-growing startups, there can be a fair amount of turnover as the company evolves and teams scale quickly. Processes are still being built in real time, so not everything is fully defined or documented yet. That said, this is very normal for a startup at this stage and can actually be a positive for people who enjoy building systems, creating structure, and helping shape how teams operate. If you’re someone who prefers highly established processes and lots of bureaucracy, it may feel less comfortable.

Working with Zendrop has been great for my 1st year, the management was small and yet their support is big, however as new people came in things changed.

I was employed at Zendrop for almost two years and initially appreciated the opportunity to grow and contribute to the team. I worked my best to meet expectations. Unfortunately, my experience ended on a very disheartening note. One day, I was called into a meeting with HR, our Customer Service Account Manager, and four of my colleagues. Without any prior notice, warning, or individual performance review, we were all informed, within five minutes, that we were being let go due to “business decisions.” No severance was offered, and no concrete explanation was provided. What made the situation even more confusing and upsetting was that newer hires were retained while more tenured employees like myself were let go. Being abruptly laid off after nearly two years, with no opportunity to prepare or transition, was devastating. I believe employees deserve transparency, fairness, and respect, especially when difficult decisions must be made. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at Zendrop. While there were positive aspects of working here, the way my tenure ended left me with a deep sense of disappointment.
