Pros

You can work at home, sometimes

Cons

If you want to join a company where the ceo complains “Americans don’t work hard enough,” outsources everything to india, expects people to work during maternity leave, and then posts your job while you’re on maternity leave, join this hot mess. RUN! The ceo posts about culture on LinkedIn but those are just words—she does the exact opposite. So far, she’s just brought in her buddies, replacing competent, able people. The PE owners aren’t any better—the lead would eat her own young if it made her an extra few dollars.

Pros

There aren't advantages to working in Engageware.

Cons

Poor management sense. Private Equity owned with lots of promises that never get real. CEO changes objectives and priorities every week. The management team doesn't get a real voice.

The Mask of Cloud Architecture

Pros

Allows some remote work. There are some nice people here The work can be interesting.

Cons

The work can be too interesting at times. There is a culture of crisis management at this company. But after some time, some of us realized that it's more than that. Sometimes people with certain personality types are attracted to positions that allow them the feeling of power and control over their fellow employees. In any company, things arise that are sometimes important to deal with, sometimes even critical. The same types of things go wrong over and over and you realize that maybe someone is doing it on purpose. Just to cause a crisis and get laughs while everyone is running around trying to solve it. Then the person who caused it can seem calm, in control, reasonable. Might seem nice, friendly. Albeit difficult to reach at times, seemingly when you need this person the most. And some of us realized that it is possibly the mask of a cloud architect. Reading over some of the other reviews, it's pretty obvious to some that there is, indeed a root cause.
