Pros

I love most of my colleagues, the ones who remain, that is.

Cons

Financial distress, lack of communication - the good 'ol boys club runs the show. Yesterday, 6/19, was our 2nd round of layoffs for the calendar year - so we're at about 500 let go to date. Rumor has it there's another round coming in Q3 - so layoffs may be the new norm. Seriously, do not come here unless you want to be in absolute chaos for likely a short amount of time. Any positive reviews lately must be from folks who have been asked to fluff Evolent ratings, really don't see how there could be positives right now. Reduction in bonus, loss of 401k match, no annual performance or cost of living raise, less people and more work.....

Pros

Before the layoffs and the mass exodus of people who voluntarily left over the past year the main reason to work for Evolent was the people. They had some of the most dedicated, creative, brightest people in healthcare working for them but most are gone now. I guess now the main pros are the competitive pay, good benefits, unlimited PTO, and decent travel policy.

Cons

Evolent is better at producing PowerPoint slides showing how an application would look or work than building actual applications. They are also better at showing wildly exaggerated graphs than producing real results. You will be expected to use these slides to show your clients that everything is great so they don't see that Evolent has turned their market into a flaming dumpster fire. Evolent has been running a diversity campaign for several years and it is primarily for show. There are no black people on the Evolent leadership team. The women in senior leadership are in token roles like "Chief Accounting Officer" or "Chief Customer Officer". Most organizations now recognize that women in leadership often get labeled with negative attribute words while men are labeled with positive ones for the same behavior, bossy vs leader. Evolent still buys into the idea that attribute based feedback, primarily from the male senior leaders, should determine whether you are promoted or get your bonuses. It isn't shocking that people are leaving to go to companies where the glass ceiling isn't made of tempered glass.
