Pros

Flexible hours, free coffee & tea

Cons

This company has a complete disregard for the employment laws of South Africa. Where an issue is raised its simply swiped under the carpet and never spoken about again. Employees belittle each other and constantly talk behind their backs, its like being back in primary school. Salaries are pathetic, friends and family who has little to no experience receives more salary than the rest. Another despicable point picked up is how Talent stalks employees on instagram. Its also known, the more you flirt with Talent the better your salary, throw in some short skirts and see through tops to go with this and you end up receiving more salary than others with years of experience. Disgusting how one needs to degrade yourself to get ahead. During employee of the month selections, only the teacher’s pet gets chosen over and over again. Other employees who dont intend on sucking up doesn’t stand a chance of any advancement in this company. Management has no experience in actually managing people. Its all smiles in front of your face and then you get called into the big boss’s office and everything is thrown back in your face. You manager claims she always has your back, but when push comes to shove she throws you under the bus. Talent walks around being inappropriate with employees, making dirty jokes, comments and overall just being a Wolowitz, when he is called out he laughs and says we should report him to HR.. oh wait he is HR and walks away laughing! Time and time again employees are reminded that they are replaceable!

Pros

Flexible working arrangements (apart from monitoring everything you do, every minute of every day)

Cons

Disgusting corporate culture. A cornucopia of labour law violations, refusing to pay in accordance with the BCEA for working over time or public holidays, Sundays etc. Management reminds staff that they are disposable as "there is a high unemployment rate in SA". They hire people for as little as possible and have even boasted in the media about how their margins are so high because the south africans are willing to work for so little. It's favours for friends, even when it is so obvious to everyone. There is no shame or accountability. A particularly creepy member of HR walks around making inappropriate comments to woman and high fives and laughs about it afterwards. He also spies on everyone by pretending to chat to people but actually feeds everything back to management. The computers we are given are so old they barely work. For a tech company, most people working there are tech illiterate. I felt unappreciated, undervalued, and treated like I wasn't a person with my own life and feelings. I could never in good faith tell someone to work there and would tell anyone there now to get out while you can. I have been in corporate on many continents in my life and this is something I have never seen before. So unprofessional and crooked - literally making mo ey off paying people so low and overcharging clients.
