Old Carrot on the Stick Trick

Pros

Great pay and benefits. Safety program was designed properly.

Cons

I worked and reported to Corporate leadership. They were unorganized, undisciplined, and only care about their career status! I was put on high priority environmental and safety projects that helped generate over $7M in new work with a major Oil & Gas Operator. I also was tasked to take our failing DOT compliance rating to new levels of compliance to over 90 percent in only 6 months. You would think they would reward hard work and dedication with a promotion. On the contrary, I was told to slow down because others in the company were getting mad at my production level. Their management practices are rude and they like to use the old carrot on the stick approach to motivate workers. Problem is the company is set up so no matter how much good you do for them, its not enough! Do not work for this company! You will just get let down and disappointed!

Most unstable company I've ever worked for.

Pros

They have a good safety program.

Cons

Hardly ever give raises to operations. Corporate is only worried about how much money they put in their pockets, and they actually consider people that are getting the work done at all the operations centers as "non money making employees".

Pros

Despite the massive layoffs and mismanagement, the operations team and sales department still have a lot of dedicated talent. It's just a shame management isn't willing to provide more resources and invest more in the downturn. Solid pay, benefits, and hours when Darron was CEO and the market was humming.

Cons

Prior to the Apollo acquisition, Express was well staffed and managed with Darron Anderson steering the ship. After Darron resigned the bottom fell out. Employees are overworked and everyone is wearing multiple hats. In 2016, I'll concede that's industry standard but too many of the right people were let go and the company has paid for their decisions.
