Pros

The only pros are really what Feefo used to be. There isn’t much to be said for what it is now…

Cons

This could get really long but the truth is that Feefo has become rotten to its core. There was a change of CEO in Jan 21 and it has been a rapid decay ever since. The owning firm installed a technophobic dinosaur to run a SaaS platform - genius. He literally wouldn’t know tech if it kicked him in between the legs and as a result, he seems to want to make Feefo a call centre. At best. Staff welfare - not a concern. Some staff have been treated so badly it defies belief. Market rate salaries - they should be grateful for the job. Culture - let’s undo Feefo’s strongest asset with things like forcing staff to come to the office with a single days notice. Even after staff bent over backwards in the pandemic for the company and before. The new CEO has undone that goodwill and connection is a few short months. Strategy - let’s buy a nearly bankrupt competitor and put the people that nearly ruined their own company in positions of power so they can do the same to our company. Genius. Development- let’s put a smart person, a quirky genius if you will, at the helm so they can tell us how busy they are but deliver nothing meaningful at all. Talent - let’s alienate all the people with experience and knowledge to the point of an exodus, blame those leaving instead of what is making them leave and then hire people we know from the travel industry. 👍🏻 Marketing - not important, nice to have. It’s just an expense that adds no value… it’s not like Apple, Google or Amazon invest in marketing… oh no, wait… Sales - let’s make it a call centre. It worked in the travel industry - it must be the same, right? Customer Success - we can downsize that because we’re losing customers quicker than we add new ones. Finance - do their best but soon they won’t have money to manage. Developers - let’s ditch them all in the pandemic and then try and scale back up when we realise we forgot to maintain the platform.

Thank you for your feedback and sharing the detail of your experience with us. I would like to take this opportunity to confirm that we now have a fully resourced marketing team that are doing amazing and wonderful things, not to mention the outstanding work being delivered by our CS and Sales teams. In addition we've invested significantly in product innovation and our tech teams. We also have a committed People & TA team who genuinely care about the welfare of our people. It's very much an individual approach as to how best to help each and every individual, as opposed to rigid, out-dated policies. We're a business that embraces change and challenge and under the direction of a hands-on and supportive CEO, we hope that we've moved the margin significantly since your feedback, but I give you my assurance that we'll continue to be focused on all the areas you've raised to ensure we're doing our best everyday for our people. I'm happy to continue the conversation with you at your convenience and would value any additional feedback you'd like to share with me and can be reached at talent@feefo.com

Pros

Getting hired into an incredible team who appreciated my professional attributes, had a real vision for the company, and that I got on exceptionally well with (unfortunately the leader and team responsible for this no longer exist at Feefo, but I will always be grateful for the opportunity to have met the team I can now call lifelong friends).

Cons

Literally everything else. I can't profess to having a wealth of experience and knowledge of exactly what good looks like - every company has it's quirks and there are exceptions to be made where businesses occasionally fall down. However I struggle to think of a single thing Feefo are doing right at the moment, and the collateral damage this has caused to it's employees, both current and former, is in some cases irreparable. Senior management have conducted purely shameful business practices over the last year, with the CEO forcing out some of Feefo's greatest departmental leaders due to differing opinions rather than working together to address real business concerns, demonstrating no cultural values or ethics at all and encouraging his direct reports to act in the same way, all the while touting that Feefo is headed for stardom and a great place to work (yeah, right!). This culminated more recently in a prolonged period with zero HR representation and the abandonment of exit interviews, which would make no sense for a company wishing to improve and set high standards in the industry. Especially in the field Feefo is in! Well at least now we all know that is not the case. The lack of training and support for employees is despicable. No self-respecting leader would allow their leadership to reflect upon the lives and livelihoods of their employees in such a way as to negatively impact career progression. For some reason, senior leadership have also felt the need to force unreasonable expectations for employees to work from the office post-pandemic, and are more than reluctant to make exceptions for those with exceptional circumstances, let alone those of us who just wish to maintain a healthy and balanced work/home life. On a side note: everyone seems to call out the office location as a pro? I can think of much better ways to walk into the office in the morning than accompanied by the smell of cow excrement! The local eateries and pubs are nothing to be particularly proud of either. Having been made redundant from my previous role, I actually thought I had landed on my feet in an incredible progressive position with prospects and opportunities for massive growth and experience - now this job will forever be "the job I took when I was desperate, and got out of as soon as I could" - such a shame as there was so much potential, but unfortunately senior leadership removed any possibility of providing fruitful careers for anyone but themselves - and even that is questionable right now. A lot of us now realise we should have left sooner. I just hope everyone who's had to suffer the fate of Feefo in the last year can see the positives (now they're out) and have learned not to stand for the way employees have been treated there.

Thank you for your review. Feefo is certainly the kind of place where we're able to make life-long friends and I'm grateful to you for sharing that feedback. You're absolutely right - our people are all experts in their field, we respect and value their specialist skils and defer to their judgment in how we move forward. We each uphold our values of integrity and honesty, an intrinsic part of our culture. I'm sorry this wasn't the case for you, but we continue to conduct exit interviews, and I'm now personally responsible for them. As with all feedback, they're incredibly valuable for the business in how we move forward, implement change, focus on initiatives, etc. We now have a dedicated and fully resourced People & TA team that are keeping the wellbeing of our people, career development and learning and development, high on the agenda with investment in platforms to help us deliver on this commitment. I'd like to thank you again for all your feedback and would be more than happy to pick up on your points as we've moved at speed to meet the needs of our people in terms of our care, systems and processes and knowledge management. Pros

The people. Well, those that were left. And there weren't many of them in the end.

Cons

Tricky. They begrudge paying relevant salaries. I think they still believe people should feel grateful that they have a job! Very outdated product. They're being out gunned by every single competitor in the space and have given nobody any idea how they plan on turning that around. Probably because they genuinely don't know themselves. No idea when it comes to their staffs welfare or care either. Many senior leaders were bullied out by the existing SLT and replaced with some very uninspiring "room meat" (the thick of it!) Who have zero experience in the space. In the end, it just became a genuinely oppressive place to work. Success is not recognised and absolutely not appreciated, zero communication or effective decision making and an absolute lack of clarity, structure or vision. Oh, and no strategy or north star goal. Nothing. How can you run a business with no strategy? The fact they are is actually impressive! Theres lots more. I would say, if you're reading this and thinking of working there, I would suggest other opportunities.

Thank you for you review. It's great that you enjoyed working with our people, we have an amazing team which we're very proud of. I'd love to take this opportunity to feedback that we've made a significant investment in our product and tech teams, allowing us to be leading the field in our exemplary service for our customers. Our sales team are smashing their targets and our CS teams bring all the customer love. We also now have a fully resourced and dedicated People & TA team, committed to the wellbeing and mental health of our people, who are fully supported in the company's vision by our CEO. I have personal responsibility for enhancing our company comms and we have multiple forums where we recognise and celebrate achieving not only our company goals, but individual and team achievements and recognising lifetime achievements, our charitable/volunteer work, etc - it's all about celebrating our work/life successes! We've moved forward some margin over the last few months and I'd be delighted to continue the conversation with you at talent@feefo.com
