Cons
the management is clueless with which products the firm should prioritise in. At some point, it had plans to become an end-to-end platform for all the buy-side community which is way too ambitious for a firm with 200 employees.
The firm is going through redundancies so it is not very stable financially.
It claims that there are catchups with managers and the firm is very transparent with the employees but its certainly not the case. many people experience multiple manager changes in a very short time.
there is a lack of planning and teams are praised for firefighting skills rather than planning ahead.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts as we genuinely value feedback, especially when it challenges us to be better. We’re sorry to hear that your experience at FINBOURNE didn’t reflect what we aim to provide as a company.
Our recent redundancies were extremely tough decisions, made with the long-term stability and sustainability of the business in mind. We know this has been unsettling and has affected the day-to-day experience of many people and we’re truly sorry for that.
We’ll take your points around prioritisation, planning and transparency onboard. As a scaling business, our ambition has sometimes outpaced our structure and that’s something we’re actively addressing. We’re taking steps to strengthen leadership across teams, sharpen our product focus, and bring more operational discipline into how we plan and deliver. None of this happens overnight but we are committed to improving.
We remain proud of our people, the technology we’re building and we’re committed to creating a more stable, focused, and transparent environment going forward.

Cons
Working here is unpleasant unless you're a software engineer. The work environment is incredibly toxic, with rampant ego clashes, scapegoating, and a lack of accountability. Despite shouldering heavy responsibilities, the pay is inadequate. Witnessing such toxicity has been both shocking and demoralizing. I urge you to consider finding a new job to escape the immense stress and toxicity of this place.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback, it's greatly valued. We acknowledge the challenges that come with a fast growing company, and as such continue to invest in providing an environment for our employees to flourish in their role and career at FINBOURNE. We have big ambitions and naturally, we're not going to get everything right. But more importantly, we recognise where we need to improve and take action to make positive change. For example, we are in advanced stages of hiring an L&D Lead to help us be an even better workplace. We're constantly working on expanding our internal training programmes, career development, learning opportunities and conduct thorough salary benchmarking exercises to ensure we offer competitive pay. I've never seen a place descend so quickly in the space of 12 months than FINBOURNE. Have to chalk it up to poor leadership and nepotism.
The one constant throughout this period of decline has been Senior Leadership... and for that reason, I would avoid this place like the plague until there's a restructure at the top.
