Pros
Most of the local staff cares. Everyone can pick their own office after mass exodus. Decent location. Somewhat decent pay (convinces you to stay with the company longer than you should)
Cons
Full on cost cutting mode now that the company has failed to generate revenue for the past 2 years running, mainly due to constantly changing expectations and zero real guidance from Chinese management. They are unwilling to put any money into the US office mainly because they do not understand how to do business in the US. Numerous China hires that are based purely on nepotism, offering China execs' children to stay in the US to play/shop (H1B visa factory). "Restructurings" every 6 months. New president can barely speak English and name/place drops in order to look relevant, yet no real understanding of how he's representing the company. GCL's reputation in the solar space is negative and the new president does not help. We do not pay our bills. To anyone! This tactic works in China, not in the US. Oh, the nice San Francisco office goes away in June. Hello Fremont!

Pros
Good, dedicated people really trying to make the company a success. Beautiful office in downtown San Francisco; great interaction with all levels of the company.
Cons
Everything is controlled by Corporate (in China). Decision making and funding process is not transparent at all; US office has little influence. Some late nights because of time difference with China. Management in China says one thing and does another.
