Pros

Enjoy bonding with your coworkers about how awful this company is. HR loves to highlight that Global Rescue employees generally like the people who they work with, but fail to realize that the basis for these friendships is misery and shared distain for the leadership of this company, particularly the CEO and HR.

Cons

No matter what stage of career you’re at, Global Rescue is a bad place to work. Managers and directors may appear to be given responsibility and oversight, but make no mistake: every decision at this company, no matter how small, is ultimately decided by the CEO. Unfortunately, this dynamic does not shield managers and directors from his ire when his own micromanaged directives fail to produce results. As the company’s disastrous 2016 multimillion-dollar losses make clear, Dan Richards lacks the business acumen to exercise the amount of oversight he insists on having at the company. Entry-level employees have little incentive for promotion and no role models at the company. Self-starters and hard workers quickly learn that leadership is more apt to punish initiative than reward it. Managers and directors will and have thrown lower-level employees under the bus to protect themselves from the ire of the CEO. Within a month of working at Global Rescue, workers have already picked up the fatalistic attitude that permeates the workforce - an attitude that is reinforced by the constant turnover, semi-regular firings, and distrust towards HR.

Pros

The first thing that comes to mind when working with an organization is its culture, environment and work. Working at GR for the last two years have been an enthralling experience for me. Here, your office is more like your family where every person is working together to bring the best out of you. Each day is filled with challenges and interesting task with some humor on top. The main thing that sets GR apart from other companies is that people believe in you here and are ready to help you in any way they can. The official environment is friendly which makes you want to work hard. Moreover, your hard work never goes unnoticed. You are credited for all the hard work and determination you show at your work. Highly recommended place to work

Cons

No monthly or yearly employee achievement award

Positive place to work

Pros

I came from a non-traditional office setting, having never worked in a corporate environment before so I was nervous to begin. I was welcomed with 'welcome bagels' and the management was very understanding with my adjustment to corporate life. Whenever I asked a question (and still asking questions) I never felt like I was asking a favor but people were open and honest and willing to listen and answer. I was told once that you don't leave a job, you leave the people. I'm thankful to have found a place where the people make the job worthwhile. The CEO has been approachable with all interactions as well as my direct manager.

Cons

Working corporate office hours has been a tough adjustment, as I am used to having freedom to come and go as my work allowed. As well as sometimes the quietness of the office.

Terrible CEO, Poor Pay

Pros

The general staff here excluding some of senior leadership are some of the best people I have had the pleasure to work with - kind, helpful, and professional.

Cons

The CEO, Dan Richards, is unfortunately the archetype for greedy, out of touch, and dismissive CEOs. He claims to be pro-American on company calls, yet moves the legal company HQ to Puerto Rico for....tax breaks. Completely uncooperative with employees who don't act as "yes-men", and incredibly stingy with $, from department budgets, to the well-below market salaries of most employees. Every expense for department projects and campaigns must be personally approved by him, leading to long timelines and uncertainty over what should be simple business expenses. I cannot speak enough on his reluctance to reward his employees with adequate salaries (many lower level employees struggle to afford apartments without supplemental income), and even end-of year bonuses. Despite his disregard for his workers' quality of life, he demands high rates of company growth each year without expanding the teams that are responsible for growing the company in the first place. Also due to his refusal to expand teams, there is little to no upward mobility for one trying to build a career here. If hired, expect to be in that same role for the duration of your employment here. Unless you are interviewing for a leadership role or direct sales role, I wouldn't recommend it unless $ truly is not a concern for you.
