Pros

✔️ The money was good

Cons

🚩 Windows laptop for development that wheezes if you run a couple of heavy apps…need I say more? RUN! 🚩 GNZ heavily controlled by Sembcorp’s archaic policies 🚩 Phishing tests being shoved down your throat and tricks being played all the time. If you have anxiety this place sure will send you over the hill. 🚩 Annoying mandatory training that’s frankly bordering on clockwork orange style treatment. They have phishing related posters in the restroom…yes! 🚩 No autonomy or freedom to try out and use tools on corporate laptop. 🚩 Infrastructure access is severely limited and heavily controlled under 7 layers of security. It’s such a massive time waste every single time to login even for a basic email or a deployment app 🚩 Everything is cluckin’ Microsoft, including Teams and Azure DevOps 🚩 Teams: cluckin’ app full of bugs. There is no Slack-like integrations from Azure to Teams. It feels like I have time traveled back to the 90s 🚩 Getting access to infra that is required for you to debug properly is gated and involves a lot of begging, pleading and following up with RO and associated teams. 🚩 Websites you would need to access for your development work like NPM are blocked, yep! And they will not remove that block. 🚩 There is a lot of big useless reactions and theatrics of reactions from non-tech people who aren't interested in technical details 🚩 The CTO is apparently very intimidating and feared because his modus operandi is to "severely scold people" (haven’t experienced, only heard the same review from everyone from low to high ranks) 🚩 Here speaking in linkedin-ese is valued and taken seriously especially in “Stakeholder Management” which actually translates to spewing a lot of empty words that mean nothing. In short, this place is Dante Alligeri’s version of h-e-l-l for software, run now!

Pros

Nice people who want to help. Good managers who genuinely care about your career development, mostly. Salary is above market for startups.

Cons

Part of big company that's a bit old school

Pros

company aims to focus on sustainability solutions

Cons

This company is a very toxic place to be in. Only join if you are currently broke, in immediate need of money, or in debt. The managers here are aimless, confused, and don’t know what to do. They will push you to such an extent that your health will start to deteriorate. Over the past 2 months, more than 20 employees have resigned due to the toxic work culture, and not a single intern was able to successfully complete their internship because of this environment. In fact, more than 10 interns resigned midway through their internship. You can imagine what kind of toxicity this company holds. They have no clear vision of what to do and will literally disturb you mentally, shattering your peace of mind. They pay you less, ask you to work day and night, including weekends, and then don’t even recognize your hard work. Higher managers take all the credit, take their bonuses, and then, if anything goes wrong, they’ll put all the blame on you. They’ll torture you to the point that you would rather be unemployed than continue working here. Whatever good reviews you are seeing online are likely written by higher management. The PR team realized that all employees were giving honest feedback, so they decided to drop fake positive reviews to balance things out. This company is on the verge of sinking. Please, don't play with your health, mental state, and peace by joining this company.
