Pros

1)Laptops provided are relatively new

Cons

1) There is no communication between functional areas of the company. This causes conflicting priorities and deadlines which delay projects and add un-necessary workloads. 2)Management consistently tries to implement procedures and protocols to help with productivity and workload management but are quick to forego these when convenient to them. 3)The company is not forward thinking, focuses more on time logged than actual productivity. 4)Software development is un-interesting and frustrating because of the tools being used. These tools are unstable and more time is spent solving "work-arounds" to these tools than on the actual problem. 5)Statutory deductions are not paid. 6)Payments are late on many occasions. 7) High employee turnover 8)Issues faced by employees are not taking into consideration when raised. 9)Company culture is non-existent. Environment is toxic and encourages blame game situations. 10)The lunch room is to small.

Pros

The biggest pro for me was that the other employees at the developer office, where I worked, were very welcoming and easy to work with. Due to a high employee turnover, most of them were relatively new and as such, also figuring things out. The developer office is in a decentralized location, which makes commuting less of a hassle. Parking is available

Cons

At the time I was there, no training was offered. They fed you outdated videos from an older version of the companies application which uses a different software. It is up to you to find your way. Poorly written code by a "prized" senior employee whom is unwilling to assist and has a very bad attitude. Salary is deposited late purposely. Mandatory monthly contributions such as P.A.Y.E, N.I.S are deducted from your salary but not paid to the government. You have to facilitate the CEO's requests or risk being fired. He often calls your line and requests that you not leave till certain things are done. If you have prior engagements and cannot, there is a high likelihood of an unfavourable repercussion. The CEO actively reads all of your emails.

Pros

The Location is good for most central and north employees

Cons

1. The owner does NOT pay Statutory contributions even though this is taken out of your salary. This was verified by several employees some of which have been working there for up to 3 years. 2. It is a requirement that you work overtime, all different hours regardless of your own plans, you will be asked to work extra days at a moments notice and if you decline you risk being fired or be placed on the CEO's crap list. 3. Late pay. A lot of months pay will come in late, in addition to it coming in late, once it starts coming in late this means the company is going through it's yearly downsizing. Hire many employees and then when he can't pay them he starts firing. This is an annual event. 4. No pay for overtime. If you work overtime, you will be lucky if you get paid for it. Even though your contact states that you will be compensated for overtime, if the owner doesn't find you worthy enough to pay your overtime then he won't or in some cases he will only pay some of it. 5. No management structure. While there are department managers, the owner micro manages everything, there is no open space for ideas, he decided everything and exactly how it is to be done. 6. Under qualified, overpaid employees. His daughter who is very unqualified heads the most important position in the company, meaning that the other employees have to do her work. Even the work that she does do is so poorly done, it is usually redone by other employees . 7. Entrapment. Your contract may state that you are entitled to many benefits but after you start working there you will learn that there aren't any benefits AT ALL. I will admit the owner offers you a higher than the average salary for your position and experience but that is solely to trap you in a job which has no growth or future usable experience outside of the company.
