Flexible WFH but pay and benefits are not good

Pros

Flexible WFH option — unless your team goes into the office often, it is not a requirement to work in the office. The company teaches the basics of consulting and helps employees develop valuable entry-level skills, especially for those who are fresh out of school. Different ERGs are offered for employees who want to join.

Cons

Pay and bonuses are highly dependent on your manager and leadership’s perception of you & how much they like you. Raises may vary widely, ranging from around 2% - 7% for consultant level. Although leadership often mentions that the company is performing well and generating strong revenue, employee benefits feel limited in terms of monetary value. For example, the company previously offered a $55 monthly phone stipend and a $30 monthly health stipend, but those were replaced with access to a mental health app that provides services such as breathing exercises and meditation. There is also limited transparency around raises and bonuses. Leadership reviews the final bonus and raise amounts with employees, but the reasoning behind the specific percentages is not always clearly explained. Bonuses are partly tied to departmental revenue, which is understandable, but the overall process could be more transparent. The company has also gone through several mergers and acquisitions over the past few years, which has led to frequent changes and many policies that still do not feel fully established. Diversity is limited, especially at the leadership level. Managers and above are almost entirely white, and most of the company’s diversity appears to come from newer hires within past couple years.

Pros

Harbor values diversity and skill! They manage acquisitions well and make newly acquired employees feel welcomed! Leadership is fair and benefits are very good!

Cons

Only con is that the company is large and employees are spread all over the world, so engagement can be challenging. However, Harbor does its best to inform and engage!
