Pros

There were hardly any. Some coworkers, but the good ones were usually forced to leave.

Cons

--management-- Owner/CEO simply had to decide about everything happening in the company. Too bad his decisions were mostly based on feelings and often made little to no sense. --management on team level-- Ranging from ridiculously incompetent muppet who only got to his position because of blatant nepotism (good for comical relief though) to actually competent guy with no decision making power (see "Owner/CEO"). --HR-- Cases of newcomers going through two probation periods - it's legal in Germany but doesn't exactly build trust. Typically, the owner had a feeling they weren't delivering quickly enough. The feeling of course wasn't backed by any data. General notion that everybody's a slacker and needs to be controlled all the time. Absolutely no home office for this reason. No sick days. --COVID special-- Working from office during first COVID year even though it was perfectly possible for most people to work from home. Home office was only allowed when the Bundesregierung ordered most companies to make this possible, if I remember correctly, for for cca 2,5 months and then everybody was forced to return to the office. All concerns voiced by employees were disregarded, safety measures laughable: "We will all just wash hands more often" --work/growth-- At least half of the development team spent around 50% of their working time working on repetitive, menial tasks mostly adjusting basic CSS. Company's in-house designer left and the owner had a feeling that we didn't need a new one. Technologically hopelessly obsolete. Application was deployed to production server manually via FTP, just to name the worst offender. Any ideas, recommendations, requests for change, etc. were simply disregarded. Absolute futility. --general-- Also the money was pretty bad.

Thank you for taking the time to rate our company here. We appreciate that you share your sometimes quite emotional thoughts here in detail. We make every effort to take note of personal - even critical - feedback and to learn from it as best we can. We would therefore have been all the more pleased if your criticism had been communicated not after, but already during your active time with us, so that we could have responded to it directly. When we read your evaluation, we found that many of the statements contained therein are unfortunately based on untruths or highly distorted representations. Many of the points made do not apply to us. We find this very unfortunate. Nevertheless, it would be pointless to go into all these points individually at this point. We would like to limit ourselves to giving our part of the evaluation of the overall situation: We are very proud of our team. This applies on the one hand to the many qualified employees working for us, and on the other hand to the positive atmosphere and the good cooperation, which also takes place across departments on an equal footing. We have a lot of good people with us and many of them have been on board for a long time. We are very grateful that assessments like yours about our employees are therefore only an exception. We already set up home office options quickly and easily during the Corona era. In fact, for several periods of time, the entire company worked from home to protect our employees. At the same time, we set up and implemented a comprehensive hygiene concept. It goes without saying that we fully and demonstrably complied with the relevant government regulations. In addition, a general home office regulation has been in place for some time. According to this, every employee - of whatever type - has the option of working from home for two working days. These company-wide adjustments, some of which are very extensive, have caused us, like all other companies, a not inconsiderable amount of work, but we have gladly accepted this. We therefore hope that our employees will continue to enjoy working for us. We are always open to constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement.
